Background: I was born in California but grew up in Texas. As part of Harvard College’s Class of 2026, I am concentrating in Chemical and Physical Biology with a secondary in Statistics or Global Health and Health Policy. After volunteering at a local cancer center and competing in several science competitions, I became interested in the intersection of oncology, research, and health policy. I hope to pursue academic medicine in the future. Working in the Sethi Lab will enable me to become a better researcher and physician.
Research Interests/Projects: I am currently working to update the PiggyBac transposition system to be TET-ON inducible and Cre-dependent. Once designed, this system can be used to induce tumorigenesis in mice and colon organoids. Common insertion sites may indicate possible tumor suppressor genes or oncogenes. Testing in mice with high fat diets can reveal differences in genomic regions involved in colon cancer for individuals with Inflammatory Bowel Disease or obesity. Fun Facts and Interests: One fun fact is that I once danced (badly) in front of Mayor Michelle Wu. In my free time, I love trying different coffee shops, visiting art museums, and playing board games with friends. I enjoy writing for the Harvard International Review and Health Policy Review, advocating for global health equity through Partners in Health Engage, and conducting lab experiments with middle school students through the Phillips Brooks House Association’s ExperiMentors program. |
